My super powers are empathy

and curiosity

About me

Hey there! I'm a UX Researcher & Designer with a passion for understanding people's needs and crafting awesome user experiences. With 10 years of psychology research under my belt and 2 years in UX Research & Design, I've honed my skills in user research, data analysis, wireframing, and prototyping. Creating user-centered design solutions is my specialty, and I love blending qualitative and quantitative research methods to get the best designs.

You'll find me with expertise in user experience design principles, ready to tackle any design challenge that comes my way. I believe good communication and collaboration are the keys to success, so expect a sprinkle of humor to keep things fun and engaging along the way!

The most important phrase in my career is “I don’t know”.

Throughout my career, I have learned that honesty, humility, and a commitment to learning and growth are essential qualities for success. As a UX researcher and designer, saying "I don't know" can be a crucial way to ensure the user experience is optimal, gather more information, conduct research, and test assumptions. By admitting to not knowing something, I can create opportunities for exploration and discovery, leading to a better understanding of the user and a more effective design grounded in data and empathy.

As a researcher, outdoor guide, therapist, and now UX researcher and designer, I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and users, each with their unique needs and challenges. I have found that being honest about my limitations and showing vulnerability can help me build a better rapport with clients and users, leading to better outcomes and more successful experiences. By admitting to not knowing something, I can gather more information, conduct research, and make informed decisions. It can also help to avoid costly mistakes, as assumptions that turn out to be incorrect can result in wasted time and resources.

I am excited to bring my unique past experience as a researcher, mental health therapist, and outdoor guide to the UX world. I am committed to honesty, humility, and continuous learning, and believe that these qualities are essential for success in UX. I am eager to continue learning and growing in my career and am confident that my already strong UX skills and past experience would make me a valuable addition to any team. I may not know everything, but I know how to find the answers and am always excited to discover them.
